Palo Duro Canyon

Cycle the open, scenic trails around Barker Reservoir & George Bush Park on the west side of Houston. These are flat, paved trails with the wind as your primary challenge.  This is great for cyclers who want to start distance riding, practice shifting, and keeping pace with a cycling group.

Hiking, cycling, and stargazing in The Grand Canyon of Texas!

Join BCO for this trip to Palo Duro Canyon located in the panhandle of Texas. We will camp at the state park and hike the Lighthouse and Triasic trails in the canyon.  Palo Duro Canyon has been called “The Grand Canyon of Texas,” both for its size and for the dramatic geological features, including the multicolored layers of rock and steep mesa walls similar to thosein the Grand Canyon.  They also have fantastic biking trails and dark, night skies for spectacular star gazing!
