Lone Star Hiking Trail Hiking Series: Hike #3

Lone Star Hiking Trail for a series of 8 hikes from January – April while we have cooler weather.
Hike 3 – Stubblefield Eastside 12.2 miles

The Lone Star Hiking Trail is a 96-mile trail through the Sam Houston National Forest just north of Houston. It is the longest continuous trail in Texas often hiked in sections but has well-marked, primitive campsites for multi-day hikers.

Hike 3 – Stubblefield Eastside 12.2 miles

Train for longer distances, test your gear & boots – all in a beautiful forest just north of Houston!

This is a fantastic, scenic trail to train for hikes!  It is a fairly flat and soft trail with some challenging gullies and slopes.  I have identified sections on the Lone Star Hiking Trail for a series of 8 hikes from January – April while we have cooler weather.  Sections are an average of 12 miles, with one longer 17.5-mile section.  This series will hike most of the Lone Star Hiking Trail!

This is an advanced hike – please be confident that you can keep pace, and come prepared.  You must be physically fit, and with the appropriate gear for this 5-6 hour hike!
