Olivewood, one of Houston’s first African American cemeteries, lay overgrown and forgotten after it’s last internments sometime in the 1960s. Now, thanks to reclamation efforts by the Descendants of Olivewood organization and countless volunteers, this historical landmark is well on its way to complete recovery.
