Beginner-Friendly Backpacking Hike in Pedernales Falls SP
Pedernales Falls State Park is one of the most beautiful and unique sceneries in the Texas Hill Country, with the huge slabs of limestone of the Pedernales River and with the scenic trails wind through forests and along the riverside. Walk the sandy shores of the River or climb on the river’s rock formations, a great place to relax and recharge. The scenery at the state park is beautiful, and with several miles of trails, visitors have countless ways to explore the terrain.

Big Bend Adventure
We’ll have four days & nights in Big Bend National Park to explore some of the most scenic country in Texas, heck, the world! We’ll be camping in the group campground in the Chisos Basin. We will have great access to showers, restrooms and all amenities. There’s an abundance of natural riches to explore inside the park and activities include hiking, paddling, rock climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, stargazing, and even a day trip to sunny Mexico. Organized activities will get posted to the BCO/HTXO calendars as we get closer to the trip date and we’ll also have signup sheets available for each day’s activities, the night before.
Brazos Bend Camping
A member favorite, it’s a new moon weekend so let’s do an easy camping trip close to Houston but with a good night sky. There is plenty of hiking, or bring your bike to cruise the park. Penty of wildlife and landscape photography plus astrophotography opportunities.
