It’s a really nice walk. There must be an animal whisperer in this neighborhood.
It should be a good event for those who are going crazy to be indoor!
We will have 2 Groups for this Event one of them will be walking the other one will be jogging so All Walkers and Joggers are welcome for a 3-miles long distance. Please let us know in your RSVP (choose the right option) if you are a Walker or a Jogger!
If you don’t want to jog or walk then please come out and socialize with us afterward at the Event’s “Friends & Beers” part!
It’s been a challenge to come up with ideas for new events in this new Pandemic Climate… and then add our summertime heat… Here is a plan that I think can work. As small businesses try to survive, I have found one we can support and where we can meet for a nice easy bike ride.
Grab your lawn chairs and head to the Plaza to kick back and relax to some music from saxophonist/vocalist Eric Demmer. This high band brings a mix of energy, funky blues and jazz.
Let’s get out of town and hit some water that you don’t mind getting in! We can SUP upstream or try to SUP in the whitewater. In between SUP’ing, swim (yes… actually swim!) or hang out in the park. There is a small trial where you can walk along the river as well.
Lower Purgatory (Hunter Road) is the most popular trailhead and fills up quickly on weekends and late morning Spring days. It is a destination for serious mountain bikers and trail runners looking for the technical difficulty of avoiding rocks and tree roots as the trail is a natural surface single-track. More than 12 miles of trail flow uphill to the Valencia Way trailhead. Popular trails are Dante, Beatrice, Ovid, and Ripheus.
Lake Longhorn has lots of room to swim (no alligators), kayak, SUP or just chill. We’ll have boats and boards at the lake for the first couple of hours. Bring your own toys too.
Finish your weekend with a leisurely float on the cool, Colorado river!
Running along the marked and unmarked trails at Memorial Park.
