Indigenous People’s Day
Come and join us at Camecac Indigenous Organization’s observance 9th annual Indigenous People’s Day at Tony Marron Park in the East End. Elders, traditional dancers, community members, and the public are invited to participate in Azteca/Mexica dance led by Calmecac Tonantzin Yolilitzyotl, as well as a water blessing along Buffalo Bayou, a pipe ceremony, traditional songs, and acknowledgement of the land that has been home to indigenous communities for thousands of years.
