Meteor Shower during New Moon (George Observatory)
It’ll be completely dark during the new moon so a perfect time to look for the meteor shower! Perseids (PER) is a Class 1, Major Meteor Shower which means it’s easier to see. It will occur from Jul 13 – Aug 26; the peak shower is Aug 12th.
As close as you can get to a dark sky while not driving too far from Houston. During the new moon so a perfect time to look for the meteor shower! Perseids (PER) is a Class 1, Major Meteor Shower which means it’s easier to see. It will occur from Jul 14 – Sept 1; the peak shower is Aug 11-12th.
Since moon conditions and city lights impact the visibility of the shower, we are headed out of town during the new moon.
