Fort Parker State Park includes 1458.8 acres of beautiful (758.8 land acres and a 700-acre lake); between Mexia and Groesbeck, in Limestone County. It’s a party in the woods, and you’re invited! Once a year, we reserve a huge amount of camping spots that are easy to get to from Houston. And then let the party begin!

A quick getaway, whether you’re new to camping or experienced. This is a great time to escape the city and have some fun! With impromptu dance parties, game night, hiking, kayaking, and more! there is something for everyone.

We have our very own area of the park that is even gated! No other campers nearby! Tranquil creek bottoms, rugged canyons, and scenic plateaus invite you to the 40 miles of trails. You’re sure to be intrigued as you discover the diverse ecosystems and cultural history that await on the adventure ahead,” AND it’ll be very close to the new moon… so STARS!!

We’ll have four nights in Big Bend National Park to explore some of the most scenic countries in Texas, heck, the world!

There’s an abundance of natural riches to explore inside the park and activities include hiking, paddling, rock climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, stargazing, and even a day trip to sunny Mexico.

Havasu Falls, a natural masterpiece nestled in the heart of the Grand Canyon. This captivating destination beckons with its pristine beauty and awe-inspiring landscapes. As I reflect on my backpacking journey to Havasu Falls in 2008, the memories of a 10-12 mile hike through scenic terrain, three nights of primitive camping, and the sheer marvel of cascading waterfalls come flooding back. Join us on this expedition, where nature unfolds its wonders at every step, promising an unforgettable experience amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Havasu Falls.

Escape to Sedona with breathtaking red rock landscapes and sandstone cliffs! This trip will be a self-guided hike which means we will be using an established itinerary but can hike at your own pace. Level is moderate, max required hike is 10 miles on Day 2 and ~900 ft elevation gain. Other hikes are optional and most can be adjusted for distances. If there’s a group who would like to do a different date, please reach out to the Trip Leader to arrange. February – May are ideal months to hike in Sedona.

Explore Peru and hike the Inca trail to Machu Picchu! Your food and equipment are carried for you. You carry a day pack. Hikes are 8-12 miles a day with 2,000 elevation gains. Since we’re going to be at a high elevation, we have a 3-day acclimation period. If you experience altitude sickness at any part of the hike, you’re required to descend to a lower elevation.
