A Walk in the Woods
Public – Join us for an hour and a half quick-paced hike through some of the lesser-known (and more adventuresome) trails.
Come prepared for a hike in Houston’s woods on the west side of town. These are actual dirt trails with twists and turns and even some hills! Wear tennis shoes or hiking boots, both work equally well. The trail is wooded and runs next to the Bayou, and you’ll think you’re on the AT. Well, the Houston version of the AT! This is a great hike to stretch your legs and meet other people who enjoy getting outside.
Join us for an hour and a half quick-paced hike through some of the lesser-known (and more adventuresome) trails.
About the Hike:
We’ll hike about 3-4 miles. We’ll hike at the pace of the group, but you should be able to hike a 25-30-minute mile. We’re a no-drop group. That means we make sure everyone who starts the hike with us finishes the hike with us, and you won’t get lost on the trail. 😄
This is an out-and-back hike, so we’ll hike halfway, then turn around and go back.
What to bring:
-
Sturdy shoes for the hike; comfortable shoes for after the hike
-
Water
-
Sun and bug protection
-
Layers
Fees: Free

About Bayou City Outdoors:
Bayou City Outdoors is the largest activity & social club in Texas! With over 700 active members, we are a diverse, friendly, fun, and adventurous group of people. Hiking to biking, kayaking to camping, canoeing, stand-up paddle boarding, social dinners, happy hours and wine tastings, and so much more! While the majority of events are held in the Houston area, we also do quite a bit of traveling. This is not a dating club. All of our events are group-oriented, providing a safe as well as a fun way of participating in many activities and meeting lots of new people. Our events reflect a wide range of interests, giving members the opportunity to share adventures with positive, lively people like themselves in a safe, structured environment.
Additionally, many of these events are planned with the beginner in mind, so you’ll have many opportunities to try a broad range of new activities. All events are either free, subject to group discounts, or are at cost.
