The town of Goliad, just 150 miles south of Houston, is a historically significant place in Texas.  The Goliad State Park hugs the San Antonio River and houses many historical buildings.  It has easy hike & bike trails, and a paddling trail.  It is also near the Great Texas Birding Trail.
