Just another day hike

Public – See the colors of the season; red and green from above to the ground and the fresh air full of pine. As you twist and turn down the trail, gaze over the morning fog rising from the lake. With the birds chirping and squirrels rustling, it’s a small jaunt from city to nature.

About the Hike:

It’s actual dirt trails with some hills. We’ll hike about an 8 mile loop, so we’ll start and stop in the same spot.

Level of Difficulty:

Medium due to length.  You should be able to walk about 25 min miles. We’ll go at the pace of the group and take a few water breaks along the way.

What to bring:

– Sturdy shoes

– Layers – you’ll warm up as you hike

– Water for you and your dog if you bring one

– A snack or lunch – after the hike, we’ll find a spot to eat

*Or sign up for Amy’s Chili below! 😀

– A chair to sit in after the hike

– Comfortable shoes to change into after the hike

Amy’s Chili!

Our chili is like our members, one of a kind and something for everyone.  🙂  I’ve been making this chili for camping trips since 2017.  Each time, it’s a little different but everytime, it’s thoroughly enjoyed. Put your chili on a bed of rice or sprinkle corn chips on top…we don’t judge here. 😉 Either way, we’ll also have avocado, sour cream and cheese to add.

$10 for chili – Veggie option available.  Must RSVP in advance for chili so I can make enough.

Dog Friendly for Friendly Dogs

No kids please.  Members may bring their kids to member events, but we’re primarily an adult outdoor social club.

Where to meet / Park:

Park at the Nature Center.  There is also a parking lot across the street from the Nature Center.  We’ll start the hike there.

Fees:

The hike is free but you’ll need to pay the park entrance fee.  $7 per person or if you have a State Park Pass, the whole car gets in for free.

NOTE:  Be sure to get your day pass online before the hike so you can get into the park.  If they sell out, you won’t be able to get into the park.  RSVP Here

Optional – $10 for chili, ticket required in advance (no refunds)
