Exclusive Member Details:

Enjoy the open skies and Lake Somerville at Rocky Creek Park, just under 2 hours from Houston.  You’ll need to bring all your camping gear, but if you require a tent, we’ve got you covered. Just give us a heads-up when you sign up. Our campsite boasts a waterfront location with unobstructed views of the clear skies. We offer the convenience of electricity and water. However, be prepared for the absence of shade or trees.

Fees:

  • Per Tent – $75
  • 2nd person – +$35 (must be a member.  If you want to bring a guest, please upgrade to a 2 person membership or you can sign up for another member if you’re sharing a tent/rv.)

Fees include a campsite, firewood, a large covered pavilion & all of your food.  Friday night Dinner to Sunday morning breakfast.  We will have light snacks so please bring any snacks you want.  Provide any food restrictions when you sign up.

Refunds:

95% until Oct 30th.

After Oct 30th – No refund unless someone takes your place, then 90%

Where to Meet:

This time, we’re camping in the National Recreation Area.  Amy will assign campsite numbers for you to check into the week of the event.

During the Camping Trip:

Feel free to plan anything you want during this camping trip.  Usually, the group does a hike and kayaking/SUP from campsite.

Visit Bluebell Creamery: If you’re arriving Thursday or Friday before 5, stop at Bluebell in Brenham. The creamery is open until 5pm Monday through Friday, and the observation deck closes at 2 pm.

Hiking:  There are over 20 miles of hiking trails in Lake Somerville State Park, a 30-minute drive from where we’re staying.

Kayaks / SUPs – I’m thinking about bringing a kayak / SUPs to share.  Check with me beforehand if you’re interested so I can be sure to pack them. 😀

Fishing – Since we have a waterfront site, you can fish directly from the campsite! I don’t know if that would be a good spot, haha, but you can do it! I’m sure there are other places to fish, too. 😀

Dogs are welcome for responsible dog owners. Dogs must be on a leash, and do not let them approach people or other dogs without asking.
