Picnic & Games

If you don’t want to camp but want to spend the day outside, join us! We’ll hike in the morning, have a picnic in the park and then play games in the afternoon.

We’re spending the day in Stephen F Austin State Park, just about 1 hour from Houston.

Hike – 10 am – 1 pm – sign up separately on the calendar.

Picnic – 1 pm

Games – Stay as long as you want. The park closes at 10 pm. If you want to spend the night, sign up for the camping trip (separate Event).

What to bring:

1. Your lunch
2. Camping chair
3. Comfortable shoes if you hiked first
4. Games – any kind of yard games, board games, etc.

Fees: $5 – Free, but there is a park entrance fee of $5 per person unless you have a state park pass. The state park pass gets the entire car in for free. To ensure you get a pass and to expedite the check-in process, you can reserve your registration with the link below. You still have to check in at HQ, but it goes much faster.

Where to Meet:

Shelters 10 & 11. You can’t park at the shelters, so you’ll need to find overflow parking nearby and walk to the shelters.

NOTE: DO NOT check in to a shelter. Just get a day-use pass.

Dog allowed for responsible dog owners: Do not let your dog approach any other dogs or people without asking first. Please bring water and poop bags.
