Weekend in the Woods
Public – It’s a party in the woods and you’re invited! Once a year, we reserve a huge amount of camping spots that are easy to get to from Houston. And then let the party begin!
A quick getaway, whether you’re new to camping or experienced. This is a great time to escape the city and have some fun!
It’s a party in the woods and you’re invited! Once a year, we reserve a huge amount of camping spots that are easy to get to from Houston. And then let the party begin!
A quick getaway, whether you’re new to camping or experienced. This is a great time to escape the city and have some fun! With impromptu dance parties, game night, hiking, kayaking, and more! there is something for everyone.
Since the weather can be fickle in February, we rented Shelters! We have an entire loop to ourselves, 7 shelters total with tons of space for tents.
How to find the group:
Follow the signs for the Shelters. We’re on the right side of the park. You will be assigned a specific shelter number closer to the event date to avoid extra car fees as much as possible. Please try to carpool! 😀
About the campsites:
Each site has 1 screened-in shelter with a picnic table, light, and ceiling fan. There is 1 electrical outlet at the shelter and 1 near the parking spot. There is a water spigot at each campsite.
We will designate 1 shelter and fire pit as the community area. We will have 1 community fire. If you would like additional fires, please plan to bring wood. The wood for the community fire is included. We will have about 3 tents per sheltered area. Each camper may use the shelter they are assigned to put any equipment they want to leave out. There is plenty of space to bring your big or small tents.
Restrooms:
There are restrooms with flushing toilets and showers.
Fees:
- Tent spot, 1 person – $75
- RV Spot for 1 person – $75
- Extra person per tent or RV spot – $40
- Non-member – $95 per person
- Separate park entrance fees – $7 per day per person unless you have a state park pass.
Refunds:
- no refund unless someone takes your place, then 90%
Tentative Menu: (Vegetarian and other dietary options available upon request.)
We always make chili on the first night of camping. So even if you’re arriving late, don’t eat on the way! It’ll be easy to heat up a bowl if we’re done.

Community Cooking & Cleaning:
There will be a sign-up board for each person to sign up to help either cook or clean breakfast & dinner. This makes cooking & cleaning go super fast. Everyone helps pack the community area on Sunday morning before you pack your sites.
