Japanese Garden

BCO loves Japanese Garden, one of Houston's hidden gem

“In May of 1914, Houston real estate investor and industrialist George H. Hermann announced publicly his intention of deeding to the City of Houston 285 acres of this property for a municipal park across the street from the Rice Institute and thus Hermann Park was born. A century later, Hermann Park is 445-acres of beautiful green space and is visited by an estimated 6 million people per year.”  from hermannpark.org

Within the park, there are walking paths, art exhibits, a ZOO!, a golf course, Miller Outdoors, and a Japanese Garden.

The Japanese Garden is what we want to focus on today because it’s more of a hidden gem within Hermann Park.  With waterfalls, bridges and stone paths among a variety of trees, plants and flowers, not to mention the wildlife, the Japanese Garden is a great escape from your busy city life.

BCO and the Japanese Garden:

At BCO, we like to go to the Japanese Garden for our Photo walks.  A photo walk is where one of the photographers gives you tips on how to take pictures, then you walk through the garden practicing and learning how to take great photos!
